  • Michael Dreisbach was born April 1, 1779 in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. His father was Colonel Johann Jost Dreisbach. Michael was a wheelwright.

    He married Susanna Shafer on September 4, 1796. Susanna Shafer was born on July 22, 1778. Her parents were Dewald Shafer and Magdalena Saeger.

    Susanna died on September 3, 1851.Michael died on October 15, 1868 in Northampton County. They are buried together at St. Pauls Indianland, Cherryville, Northampton County.
    Dreisbach is also spelled Dresbach, Dresback, Driesbach, Driesbaugh, Dreisback, and Treisbach.

    Shafer Spellings: Schaeffer, Schafer, Schaffer, Shaffer
    Northampton County, Pennsylvania is on the eastern border of the state in the Lehigh Valley. It was formed in 1752 from parts of Bucks County. Easton is the county seat.

    Dewald Shafer was born about 1749 in Pennsylvania. His father was Johann Jacob Shafer.

    He married Magdalena Saeger.

    The paternal grandfather, Michael Dreisbach, was born April 1, 1779, and died October 15, 1868. By occupation he was a wheelright, and engaged in farming. His wife bore the maiden name of Susanna Shaffer [Shafer].
